A proven program developer, John Giannini has made La Salle a perennial contender in the Atlantic 10 conference. In his "Three-Guard and Four-Guard Offense," you'll learn how his teams have utilized a constant attack on their opponents to become a high-powered scoring offense.
Coach Giannini uses whiteboard diagrams to give a detailed look at the X's and O's of his explosive three-guard offense, which he developed by carefully studying other teams. Every scoring possibility is fully illustrated. He also uses on-court demonstrations for a different perspective. He shares three simple plays (Magic, Clear, and Fist) along with coring options that can be implemented into the half-court offense. Using flat screens, side ball screens, flip screens and re-screening action, you'll learn all the in's and out's of this guard-oriented offense.
Coach Giannini also offers a set play, Double Low, which can be used against a defense that has shut down your three-guard action. He combines a version of the dribble drive offense and his three-guard offense to create scoring opportunities off the dribble.
Coach Giannini's presentation concludes with game footage that shows how the system should look live against a defense.
This is a great video for any coach who wants to add a modified version of the dribble drive to their offensive strategy.
