Defensively, the coaching staff uses the entire field to work on a specific aspects of the game: The outfielders concentrate on short hops, while the infielders work on fielding bunts and flips. Other drills simulate game situations to develop team communication.
Coach Holas takes her team through an alternate warm-up to keep her athletes focused on the benefits of proper stretching and dynamic movements. Holas starts very basic with run throughs in the infield to gain proper throwing and fielding technique prior to going live off of the bat. This will show you how to break down different skills and develop muscle memory while focusing on fundamentals. The outfield focuses on picking up balls off of the fence and relays. Coach Holas combines the infield and outfield for "tweeners," which focus on communication between teammates. To conclude they brought it all together for live batting practice.
